Building a website for Kells-2-Craftie.

Kells - 2 - Craftie
She had been wanting to sort out a website for a while but wasn't sure where to start, thats where I came in ... .
I decided to use a website builder with coding capabilities. There were many options;
The business was developed through Kelly's love of craft and kelly is bubbly, friendly and always ready to help I wanted that to show in the website.
She wanted it to be easy for her to add images and update the pages when needed. I thought the option to start a blog, shop, etc should also be available .. ..
So I had a look at her Facebook page and created 3 options.

She loved all of them so we decided to pick the bits of each site and create a forth, ...
We created something unique, she loved the lay out and colors ,so we stuck with them.

Goal identification: determine what goals the site needs to fulfill./ what its purpose is.
Scope definition: define what pages and features the site requires to fulfill the goal.
Sitemap and wireframe creation: defining the content and features
Content creation: a bigger picture of the site, start creating content.
Visual elements: site architecture /some content in place/ the visual brand. moodboards/collages
Testing: got all pages /defined how they display to visitor,
Launch!
After that, it's time to break out the bubbly.

Logo design
My usual process ;
Design Brief
Get to know the client’s business.
Because I hadnt planned to use or show any of the concepts, I was chilled and just created, this saved time in the discovery phase.
The usual series of branding questions, prior to starting developing a logo.
Basic questions:
-
What distinguishes your company from peers in your field?
-
What are your business and marketing goals?
-
Where are you going in the future?
-
Describe your business.
5. any additional questions e.g.
Research
Conduct research focused on the industry, its history, and competitors.
Time to start with the research - research the industry, it’s history, and the competitors. What can work and what’s appropriate and foremost how to differentiate the company from local competitors. I look at other similar business in the area as well as globally, to see whats trending and what innovative designs I can be inspired by.
Brainstorming
Conceptualize ideas and make decisions on the possible design directions. I spend a lot of time looking at my collection of images and inspirations

Creating the logo.
To be honest, the creating of the logo was purely by accident. I was working on the webpage and needed something to fit the websites a little bit better and I wanted to show variety in the samples. So I plyed around with some concepts i Had learnt through my course work. Kelly loved them so we moved forward with some options. ...
Below were some of my ideas. ...

She decided ... . ...

Presentation
Present logo designs concepts in context of applications relevant to the client. So i created some simple mock-ups on name cards, letter heads, etc
Revisions / Approval
Making changes if necessary. Together with the client arrive on the best images/concepts.Sometimes the client is unsure about a new concept I like to put the idea out on behance or facebook groups to get feedback from different perspectives.
Delivery
Deliver the final logo artwork and identity guidelines.
Sketching
Develop the logo design concepts around the brief and research. I sketch a lot by hand on the bus, at lunch, etc
Pencil on paper - I think it is called , intuitive exploration of conceptual design solutions.
Design Execution
Select promising logo design concepts and execute them digitally.
The logo is now used on Kells 2 Craftie Facebook Page and is set to be used on name cards and other medias.
So we have run a video campaign. T-shirts, social Media campaigns and opened a shop on Etsy.
